WELCOME to a new type of community!
We Are Moving Stories is the world's largest platform for new voices in film. Since 2016 we have become pioneers in amplifying the voices of women, people of color, LatinX and the LGBTQ community.
More than 50% of our contributors are women - an industry record. We are an indispensable database, active community and exciting directory of new voices. We can also operate as an agency of new content from under-served, neglected and excluded communities.
We have published 2.4 million words about more than 3000 films. Our catalog includes new documentaries, drama, animation, web series, scifi, horror, westerns. comedy, adventure, world cinema, and film festival favorites from Academy Award qualifying festivals including Sundance, AMDOCS, the Pan African Film Festival, OutFest, Palm Springs, HollyShorts and many others.
The death of George Floyd has had an irreversible impact on US society. We have seen what was once marginal move to the mainstream in a profound way. The cries for justice and equality have become louder and are now matched by corporate pledges for change. We Are Moving Stories wants to become part of a larger, national conversation; with our library of unique content we want to be a solution to the problem of under-representation and systemic racism.
PAST ACTIVITIES:
The COVID-19 Agency is an initiative of We Are Moving Stories. We are a group of award-winning photojournalists, filmmakers and animators based in the US and internationally. In the US we are in NYC, LA, San Francisco, Oakland and New Orleans. We are here to be helpful, work to the best of our ability and be prompt in correspondence and delivery.
In the US news is regarded as an ‘essential’ activity and we are also able to call upon our wide network of editors, animators, special effects experts and filmmakers who are able and willing to work remotely during the crisis.
We aim to:

Document the every-day reality of life during COVID-19;
Keep up to date with national and international COVID-19 research and developments;
Work with media organizations, aid groups, philanthropies and companies;
Provide images and footage to media organizations, aid groups, philanthropies and companies;
Ensure that our filmmakers and photographers follow safety, security and PPE guidelines;
Support excellence in news, documentary, filmmaking and animation;
Embrace a spirit of collegiality and cooperation with both national and international colleagues while working to document this unprecedented global epidemic and emergency.
