Morning After- short film. After a long time abroad, a young man returns home and reunites with friends. A sensual game amongst them forces him to confront deep conflicts within himself that lead to a powerful awakening. Length: 14 minutes 59 seconds. Patricia Chica writes:

We tend to believe that things that we can not name or define do not exist. Until recent years, there were no words or acknowledgment for sexual fluidity so people thought that the way they were (fluid, that is) could not be part of the rainbow of the sexual spectrum. There is a little shade of color for everyone in that rainbow. It is okay to not to identify with any of the preconceived sexual labels.

Some people are happy living in heterosexual relationships all their lives. However, on a deeper level of intellect and spirituality, they consider themselves Queer, not because they define themselves as such or because they are questioning themselves, but because the conventional labels simply do not define who they truly are.

Tinder is the Night (renamed: Textual Intercourse) - Eddie and her three best friends are looking for love, sex, and companionship, but a string of bizarre internet meetups make them question the sanity of dating. Length: 10 minutes 42 seconds. Writer/Director Misha Calvert:

Tinder is the Night as a way to talk about sex, love, and dating from a comedic perspective that, at the time, wasn’t represented in the media. We are only just now starting to really showcase female sexuality and the female gaze in film and television in a raw and authentic way, and Tinder is the Night is uncompromising in its usage of the female gaze...as is all of my work because, duh, I’m female.

Fuck Me, Richard - A romance-obsessed loner finds herself swept up in a passionate long-distance love affair. Richard is perfect in every way, except that he may be a scammer. Length: 15 minutes. Writer/Director/Actor Lucy McKendrick:

I’ve always been fascinated by the fantasy world people build out when they first fall in love. Not only are both parties on their best behavior, but they’re also projecting a lot onto each other, so it’s almost like they’re writing their own little romance novel together and then spending the rest of the relationship trying to live up to that ideal. With Fuck Me, Richard I pushed this idea to an extreme — focusing on a relationship that is utterly dishonest on both sides, completely toxic and manipulative, and yet these two characters still manage to build out this robust, sensuous fantasy world.

Troy - has loud sex. Troy has loud sex 24/7. Troy shares a wall with Thea and Charlie. Troy is ruining their lives… Or is he saving them? Length: 16:07. Director Mike Donahue:

In large cities, we live pressed up close against our neighbors, and our lives - in both their daily routines and their moments of piercing pleasure or grief - often become intertwined with those of our neighbors in unexpected, unnamable ways.

Flames - A real romance filmed over five years. Josephine and Zefrey simmer in the white hot apocalypse of first love until the throw of a dart finds them on a spontaneous trip to the Maldives and cracks open the question - is their love true or just a performance? Length: 86 minutes. Directors Zefrey Throwell and Josephine Decker:

This isn’t a film about Josephine and Zefrey falling love. This is a film about the cyclical nature of human romance. We fall head first down the well, believing that THIS IS THE ONE. And lo and behold we are wrong, time and time again. This doesn’t cheapen the experience and rarely does it dampen the next TRUE LOVE. It is humanity’s ability to process, forget and move on, that allows life to continue.

Pussy Love - Hey Puss! Still playing hard to get? Let me be your pussycat. Length: 4 minutes 15 seconds. Director Linda Krauss:

It’s inspired by my fucked up love life. Dating confused me a lot and I felt that I wasn’t the only one pretending to be a cool cat. Sometimes it feels like we’re in a competition of who can care less. Hiding your emotions because you don’t want to look needy. Sex positivity is so important and with Pussy Love I am trying to give a little bit of spotlight to the emotional aspects of dating. I’m not cool, I’m a pussy.

TLG - A clandestine and passionate encounter between two men in avoidance of their true desires ignites their wildest impulses and reveals the darkest sides of humanity. Length: 6:52 minutes. Director/Producer/Editor Itziar Martinez:

I am fascinated by the depths we will go to not accept who we are and our own desires. In order to maintain the identity we believe keeps us safe in this world. When we are honest with ourselves, we discover all of us do this in one way or another.

Pre-Drink - Alexe is a young trans woman, and Carl a gay man. Best friends since forever, an evening spent together destabilizes Alexe, when both decide to have sex together for the first time. Length: 23 minutes. Writer/Director Marc-Antoine Lemire:

I made this film because I really think anyone can relate to that simple situation: when your feelings get confused inside a strong and long-lasting friendship. Even though if my two characters could be considered as marginal people, my ultimate goal with PRE-DRINK, was to make the audience relate to them. Because what they go through is absolutely universal. It’s about feelings we all have inside, such as love, sexual attraction, fear, disappointment, loneliness... It’s human.

Friends Effing Friends Effing Friends - A post-modern romantic comedy about sex amongst friends, missed opportunities, unrequited love and how the grass always appears to be greener on the other side. Length: 77 minutes. Writer/Director Quincy Rose:

As a filmmaker I am always looking to challenge myself, and I felt the challenge with FEFEF would be to make a film about a group of people who are behaving in fairly despicable ways towards one another, but who are not outright despicable people. I wanted to show the duality that lies within us all, and how easily we can justify the poor decisions we make based on any number of reasons: guilt; inside knowledge of deceit; anger; frustration; revenge. And I wanted to tell it with levity and humor, so I decided to tell it as a comedy with dramatic elements, as opposed to a flat out drama.

The Narcissists - Brooklyn filmmaker Oliver has once again found himself at a crossroads, facing troubles with his long-term girlfriend Cassi and in a rut creatively. While meandering around New York City with his best friend, Oliver explains his latest screenplay, a narrative meditation curiously reflecting his own life, wherein a couple is forced to make a decision: stick together and commit to another year of cohabitation, or call it quits after five years and move out. In order to gain perspective and clarity, Oliver and Cassi have taken two weeks apart, and with their friends' help, make what might be the most important decision of their lives. Length: 1 hour 21 minutes. Writer/Director/Producer/Editor/Actor Quincy Rose:

I also wanted to experiment a bit, try out some different concepts, and I knew that the only way I could maintain total creative control, would be to make a micro-budget film, as to not be beholden to any outside investors. Also, I am always trying to get better at my craft, and you can’t do that unless you actually get your hands dirty.

Everybody Does It - A young woman takes her sexuality into her own hands--literally. Length: 10 minutes 49 seconds. Writer/Director Megan Brotherton:

First and foremost you should watch this film because it will make you laugh and entertain you. I hope it will also make you question why female sexuality is so often repressed and discouraged in our society.

Acsexybility - is a documentary that tells stories about the sexuality of people with disabilities. Through the characters' conversation with the director, the film talks about flirting, kissing, dating, masturbation, ableism and, of course, sex. Its greatest strength is precisely hearing from people with disabilities things that society does not expect them to say and do. We want to change the idea that they are asexual, angelic, special and even devoid of desires. We fuck and we fuck well, they say. Length: 1 hour 26 minutes 46 seconds. Writer/Director/Producer Daniel Gonçalves:

Located at the intersection of disability and queerness, this documentary enriches, implicates, and breaks open the conversation around sexual life in the disabled community. This film does not shy away from the complexities and challenges of queer life, but rather embraces them and in doing so, illuminates how they impact one another and bring new dimensionality to the position of the body within them.

Flicking the Bean - Prim little Beth has yet to discover the magic of ‘flicking the bean’ to the horror of her best friend Jo, so she embarks on a surreal journey of self-discovery and, most importantly, self-love. Length: 5 minutes 16 seconds. Writer/Director Jemma Cotter:

Flicking the Bean is a candy-coloured, surreal comedy poking fun at the ‘code words’ women use to describe masturbation, oh – and it features a giant bean mascot.

Rubber Heart - After a painful dry spell, a woman attempts to have a one night stand. Length: 8 minutes 15 seconds. Director Lizzy Sanford:

You should watch this film because (hopefully) it will make you uncomfortable enough to have a conversation about sexuality, to consider the concepts of beauty, vulnerability and control.

Texas Annie: The Legend of the Moan Ranger - tells the musical tale of a renegade dildo runner in Texas when sex toys are declared illegal. Length: 2 minutes 30 seconds. Writer/Director/Producer Jennifer Howd:

The material for the short and the larger film is inspired by a real-life law in Texas called the “obscene devices” law, declaring anyone found selling – or in possession of 6 or more sex toys – can be charged with a felony. Although the law was overturned in 2008, it still remains on the books. Presently, you can (legally) own more guns than sex toys in Texas.

The Silent Man - A young woman overcomes a lost love through the figure of a life size male doll. Length: 15 minutes. Writer/Director Charlotte Colbert:

Some people find the film very dark and sad while others find it really funny. It doesn’t seem to leave anyone indifferent which is really nice.

Spanko - A misfit second grade teacher explores her taboo fetish for the first time. Length: 12 minutes. Writer/Director Melanie Zoey Weinstein:

I made Spanko to create a humanizing portrait about one woman’s journey with her complex sexuality, and to celebrate the weird stuff that makes us different. I wanted to tell this story in a way that’s personal, intimate, and funny (but not slap-stick) so that an audience could open themselves up to subject matter they otherwise might not be exposed to. I wanted to counter the Fifty Shades phenomena with a film that felt more gritty and real. Spanko is not a fetish film - it’s a film about a woman with a fetish, and how that irrepressible difference both challenges and inspires her.

Beat Around the Bush - A 75 year old widow with Alzheimers decides it’s time to have her very first orgasm ever. (It takes a few tries). Length: 12 minutes 24 seconds. Writer/Director Brianne Nord-Stewart:

I thought it was a great idea that I hadn’t seen before. Something that balanced comedy and the vulnerability of the human spirit. That and I’m just really interested in human sexuality and the stories we don’t tell.

Sacred Water - A playful ode to the female orgasm in Rwanda from the perspective of a radio deejay with a mission. Length: 56 minutes. Writer/Director Olivier Jourdain:

First of all, the film will give you a frank dose of laughter. Secondly you’ll learn things you wouldn’t expect of an African country, related to female orgasm. We usually think about sex in Africa as a negative thing, so here’s something completely different.

I also believe this film works as a kind of mirror of each and everyone’s sexuality. Through the discovery of specific sexual practices, the audience starts thinking about his own conception of intimacy: Are we in the West as sexually liberated as we think? What knowledge do we really share? The film questions more than gives answers and I’m very happy with that as I wanted to bring reflection and self-questioning.

<COMEDY>

Butt Stuff - A man's sentient sex toy becomes jealous when its owner forms a relationship with a human woman. Length: 8 minutes 25 seconds. Writer/Director/Producer/Editor/Actor April Yanko:

Yes, Butt Stuff is a film about a sex toy come to life, but it’s also about what happens when our emotions run wild, how jealousy manifests and controls us, and how we can still find a happy ending even if we experience tragedy in our lives (not that kind of happy ending). It’s a film about how we can find our perfect match, no matter how impossible we may think that desire is.

Sexxy Dancer - A woman down on her luck gets a lift when a friend loans her Sexxy Dancer for the week. Length: 5 minutes 57 seconds. Writer/Director Jessica Makinson:

Sexxy Dancer just had it’s world premiere at Marfa Film Fest and it was a total blast. Everyone was really in the mood to laugh so we milked that for all it was worth. People like joyful films and we need more of them.

That's It - A young woman, nervous about her first sexual experience, gets advice from her eccentric aunt. Length: 6 minutes 8 seconds. Writer/Director Nikki J Willson:

This is a fun, comedic story about a young girl ready to get her virginity over with. It’s entertaining!
Screen Shot 2020-07-21 at 9.29.39 AM.png

Noodle - It’s hard to get hard when you’re cheating on your girlfriend with a lesbian woman who wants to take revenge… Length: 6 minutes. Writer/Director Benoit Masocco:

In three words? Love, sex and humor! You can not get bored because it only lasts 6 minutes and you will see two wonderful actors, and a lot of skin! And it is also a nod to the new French wave, and especially to “Breathless” by Jean-Paul Godard.
Screen Shot 2020-07-21 at 9.47.55 AM.png

The Love Bathroom - What would you do if you had an opportunity to have one last adventure before you say “I DO!” and would you still say “I DO?” Length: 5 minutes. Writer/Director Anna Fishbeyn:

The Love Bathroom is fun, witty, and sexy; it is that timeless fairy tale about a woman torn between the man her parents want her to marry, and her own unbridled desires – with a modern twist.

Take With Water - After her first one night stand, Emma navigates the awkward aftermath of casual sex and learns to embrace her sexuality. Length: 9 minutes 55 seconds. Writer/Director Tara O’Sullivan:

I made this film at a time where I was thinking a lot about what makes people feel positive after a sexual experience, and what makes them feel negative. I wanted to tell a story about a girl who is struggling with these feelings, and who ultimately comes away with something positive. It came from a lot of serious thoughts that I chose to approach in a comedic way, since that’s how I approach most things.

Be Fabulous, First Stop: Sexitude - Every Sunday a group clad in neon spandex, crop tops, and gold booty shorts gets together for Sexitude, a body-positive, sex-positive, age-positive dance class in San Francisco created by D’Arcy Drollinger. Length: 5 minutes. Director Meghan Ryan:

I had been taking Sexitude, the body positive, sex positive dance class, for about a year, and it was unlike any dance or fitness class I had been to or heard about. As someone who has always struggled with body image issues and is not very confident in front of a crowd, I noticed a change in my attitude after I had been going to the class for a bit.

Although the change was small, it was getting out of my comfort zone, enjoying to opportunity to be a little outrageous, and being with a group of people that held no judgment that made me see this class was more than simply a dance class, it was a unique community that just wouldn’t exist in a lot of places in our country.
